Ibiza, Spain – October 2017

The International Blue Carbon Scientific Working Group meeting was held in October in Ibiza, Spain. Dr. Núria Marbà, member of the BCI Scientific Working Group and research scientist at the Mediterranean Institute for Advanced Studies (IMEDEA), graciously offered to host the meeting.

The meeting focused on blue carbon in the Mediterranean region, including the European Atlantic and Baltic coasts, with emphasis on surveying current understanding of blue carbon in the region and supported the development of a Mediterranean Blue Carbon network.

The meeting was held at the University of the Balearic Islands, Campus Ibiza.
